Fatherman Down

“Hard to put down!”

The power of positive thinking in our everyday world. Smooth easy read with lots of moments where you must stop and re-read powerful insightful statements that make you think… Overcoming adversity is only a small part of this tale. The reader is inspired to consider living intentionally. Great job, Bruce!

Fatherman Down

“Raw and Inspirational”

This is a must read story! I read this in one day, I couldn’t put it down. Fatherman Down starts with an awful car accident of a loved and dedicated father. He struggles in the hospital as he attempts to make sense of the events surrounding that day. His life is a wreck as he sees it, with nothing to look forward to. He has so many questions about his recovery, his employment, and more than anything his children. This is an inspirational read that anyone can relate to! When I read this I was going through a difficult situation in my life. This book brought perspective to some things I had lost sight of.

Humanity has the capacity to bounce back from anything.

“Find your passion and pursue it”

Oklahoma author E. Bruce Bushong practiced law in Texas before returning home to Shawnee OK to teach high school English, grew up in Oklahoma and after practicing law in Dallas, Texas he returned home to teach English and AP Language and Creative Writing. He is also the Mock Trial coach and sponsors the Writer’s Block, a creative writing club. CRITICAL MASS was conceived 34 years ago while he was in law school and he began writing this 600 page tome in 2003, taking over a decade to complete the epic. His first book, FATHERMAN DOWN, was a dramatic success. As he describes his second book he states, `in Critical Mass, all of the places that the characters go are real. Each of the five main characters is from a different country and they practice different religions. They also practice different martial arts. The idea of the book is inspired by spiritual practices that are all inclusive and by a deep desire to have all of us live together in peace.’

“The author has woven humor and edge-of-your-seat drama into a work of fantasy that one can easily argue is plausible in every as”

Strong, well-defined characters, a highly ambitious plot, and an artful blend of unexpected and predictable twists combine to make E. Bruce Bushong’s Critical Mass, a Spiritual Adventure to Save the Planet an exhilarating read! Enter Brian, The Uniter, and most vital member of a team charged with a task no less crucial than saving the planet. Despite his unequaled wisdom and clarity of calling, this central character still demonstrates a gamut of human emotions ranging from anger, frustration and lust to fear and utter despair. The author has woven humor and edge-of-your-seat drama into a work of fantasy that one can easily argue is plausible in every aspect. I found the line between truth and fiction be a blurry one. He has also succeeded in weaving the strengths and weaknesses of the five adventurers into a homogenous group capable of taming virtually any obstacle. It took me 3 days to read this 600 page novel, and in the end, I was sad to see the adventure end. You owe it to yourself to follow Brian, Katrina, Hadji (yes, as in Johnny Quest), Qui Jen and Alia on their quest.

” Excellent book!”

Excellent read! If you want an epic tale of adventure, travel, and mysticism, this is your book. The characters are true individuals. I especially liked Hadji. I won’t spoil it by telling you why. The book is well-written and presents some original ideas about life. There’s a little bit of everything here, including great fight scenes. I thoroughly enjoyed the section on the Abyss, complete with demon-like creatures, and the section on the labyrinth. The ending will surprise you. I don’t like predictability in a book and this one is anything but predictable.
